b&w photograph
Very good condition: some marks on photo, size with matte 30.1 cm x 35 cm, matte stained and tape along top edge of matte.
Group photo of 22 boys in three rows (1 row standing, 1 row seated on chairs, 1 row seated on the floor). This is a multiple-year photo, since only five of the boys were positively identified by J. Mills in 2015 as being Engineering graduates in 1928 (and no hard copy of the 1926 yearbook has been located): Maurice Markley (front row, centre), Doug Penny (front row, second from right), Eddie "Ovie" Martin (front row, far right), Frank Murphy (middle row, fourth from right), and Bill Halley (back row, far left). Penny entered Saint Mary's High School in 1920, while Martin and Halley came in 1925, and Markley and Murphy came in 1926. The rest are undergraduates. The youth in the seond row (third from left) is Alfred Leverman, a future Bishop.
Embossed in lower right corner of matte: 'Gauvin & Gentzel, Halifax, Canada.' Written in pencil on reverse: '1.,' '1928' and '77.0'. From Art Gallery.
