dc.description |
Group photo of 44 boys and one priest (Brother Sterling) in five rows (4 standing, 1 sitting on chairs). William Burns (Arts class of 1923) is in the fourth row back, fifth from left; therefore this group is likely a Grade 10 class, since Burns would have entered Grade 10 in the Fall of 1917. Identities confirmed by J. Mills in 2015. Right Rev. William Burns enjoyed a distinguished career as Vicar General to the diocese's Bishop (exercising executive powers) from ca. 1942-1959. He also served on Saint Mary's Senate and as Vice Chancellor ca. 1951-1959. As of 2017, it is not possible to pinpoint these dates more accurately. |
