dc.description	Good condition: top right corner frayed, crease near top left corner, emulsion lines showing and reverse side yellowing
dc.description	Honourary degree recipient Dr. Malik gives convocation address, with CBC, CJCH and CHNS microphones broadcasting. Father Malone (SMU President 1956-1959) and Bishop Leverman are seated (third and fourth from the left, respectively) behind him. Fellow recipient Cardinal Cushing is seated at right. At far left in the front row (nearest Malik) is Sidney Oland (of the famous brewing family), representing the "old" Senate (known since 1967 as the Board of Governors). In the very back row, priests Father Labelle (wearing glasses, SMU President 1967-1970) and Father Fogarty (to left of Malone) can just be seen. Dean of Engineering Dr. Ryan (back row, glasses, at SMU 1937-1990) is just visible alongside Malik's gown. Identities confirmed by J. Mills in 2017. Identical to 11.04.0386.
dc.description	Written in ink on reverse is 'Mildred Harrington.' Mildred was an Education and Classics teacher at Saint Mary's University in the 1960's and does not appear in this photo. Can be found in 1959 Convocation Program. Came in file folder marked 'Honourary Degrees'. From Art Gallery.
