dc.description Photo of Dr. Malik standing in preparation to receive his honourary degree, with Archbishop Berry seated at left. Second from right is an elderly Right Rev. William Burns (Arts class of 1923). Burns enjoyed a distinguished career as Vicar General to the diocese's Bishop (exercising executive powers) from ca. 1942-1959. He also served on Saint Mary's Senate and as Vice Chancellor ca. 1951-1959. As of 2017, it is not possible to pinpoint these dates more accurately.
