dc.description	From Burke-Gaffney fonds: research. Written on reverse in ink and pencil: 'SUBJECT Flowers BY Daniel Seghers FROM THE WILSTACH COLLECTION W04-1-54'. The stamp of the Philadelphia Museum of Art also on reverse. Accompanying note reads: 'VIII Garland of flowers with Mary and Child: a painting in the Philadelphia Museum of Art (from the Wilstach Collection). The painting is on canvas, about 74 x 102 cm. The Madonna is waist length, the Child, full length. The sculptural elements, in grisaille, and the flowers, in vivid natural hues, are typical of Daniel Seghers' style'.
