Left to right: Suzanne Sheaves, Martha Jodrey (local entrepreneur and honourary degree recipient), Denis Ryan, Ted Flinn, and Dr. David Sobey (honourary degree recipient and major fund provider for the Sobey Building). All wear aprons except Denis Ryan, who is busy noshing on a hamburger.

Behind the grill are: Suzanne Sheaves (campaign cabinet), Martha Jodrey (kick-off event chair), Denis Ryan (event emcee), Ted Flinn (chairman of the board), and Dr. David Sobey (campaign chair). The photo is reproduced on page 84 of Saint Mary's University: An Anniversary Portrait by Anne West, with the following caption: 'A tailgate party in The Tower parking lot launched the 1994 Building on Strength [campaign] ...'
