dc.description b&w photograph
dc.description Excellent condition: size with matte 30 cm x 35 cm, matte stained, and tape along top edge of matte. Photo came with white frame matte attached to front.
dc.description Group photo of 13 boys in three rows (2 rows standing, 1 row seated on chairs) in front of Saint Mary's College (Windsor Street campus). Front row centre is top athlete "Babe" Girroir, but none of the others boys can be identified because as of 2015, no hard copy of the 1929 yearbook has yet been located. Girroir appears (variously with first initials E. L. or just A.) on pages 29, 36, 38, 39 and 41 of the 1928 Collegian yearbook, and is identified as Edward Girroir on pg. 10 of the 1930 yearbook. J. Mills was unable to identify any of the other boys in the 1928 or 1930 Collegian yearbooks; because of this and their small numbers, most are likely the Arts and Engineering graduates of 1929.
dc.description Embossed in lower right corner: 'Gauvin & Gentzel, Halifax, Canada.' Written on matte beside photo: 'O'Connell.' Written in pencil on reverse of matte: '3.,' '79.0' and '1929?'. From Art Gallery.
