Excellent condition with tape on top two corners of reverse.
Photo of six clergymen sitting at a table having dinner, from l to r: ?, Right Rev. William Burns, Archbishop Berry, Archbishop Panico, Father F. Lynch (SMU President 1950-1956) and Father Czako. As Apostolic Delegate, Panico visited Saint Mary's in 1955, commemorated in more photos on pg. 8 of the 1955 Santamarian yearbook; Panico's address can be found on pg. 23 of the same yearbook. Right Rev. William Burns (Arts class of 1923) enjoyed a distinguished career as Vicar General to the diocese's Bishop (exercising executive powers) from ca. 1942-1959. He also served on Saint Mary's Senate and as Vice Chancellor ca. 1951-1959. As of 2017, it is not possible to pinpoint these dates more accurately. Quite likely that the accompanying Art Gallery note (listing only 5 names, see below) has been mistakenly linked with this photo.
Written in pencil on reverse: '99.0' and 'Father Arrupe 3rd right.' Stamped in black on reverse: '170.' Came in white mat with '99.0' written in pencil on reverse. Father Czako was identified by Wendy Bullerwell as man at right. Note from Art Gallery identifies the names 'Father Arrupe, Archb. Antoniutti, Father Lynch, MSGR. Burns, Archb. Berry'.
