dc.description	Edmund Morris (centre, former Halifax mayor, assistant to the President, SMU President 1970-1971) receives a plaque from Rick Butler (right, Arts class of 1969, President of Alumni Association 1980-1981), with Laurie Smith (Arts class of 1943, here Director, Admissions and Scholarships) watching. Morris received an honourary Doctor of Civil Law in 1986.
