dc.description	Photo of Dr. Malik (second from left) receiving honourary degree from Archbishop Berry (far left) with Father Malone (second from right, SMU President 1956-1959) assisting. Far right is an elderly Right Rev. William Burns (Arts class of 1923). Burns enjoyed a distinguished career as Vicar General to the diocese's Bishop (exercising executive powers) from ca. 1942-1959. He also served on Saint Mary's Senate and as Vice Chancellor ca. 1951-1959. As of 2017, it is not possible to pinpoint these dates more accurately.
