dc.description Reduced print of a photo of Father Belair working at a desk in his office in McNally Building. Caption underneath photo reads: "FRONT OFFICE: It was a busy time for Fr. Belair when exam results began to pour into his office to be recorded in the 'Big Book' following completion of the first term exams. (Staff photo by MacGillivray)."
dc.description Father Belair first appears at SMU in 1946 as Class Master of Grade 10A; by 1948 he has the formidable title of Dean of Discipline, a post he held until 1967. Date is based on Saint Mary's Journal photographer Peter MacGillivray's name first appearing on pg. 32 of the 1950 Collegian yearbook.
