dc.description.abstract	The paper investigates the underpricing level of GEM IPO companies which are listed in the Hong Kong stock market from 1999 to 2011. We examine some of the factors that influence IPO underpricing such as offering price, size of issue, age of the firm before going public, turnover rate in first trading day and industry type. The sample covers 102 GEM companies listed on Hong Kong stock market. The results confirm that offer price and size of issue do influence IPO underpricing. Moreover, age of the firm before going public, turnover rate in first trading day and industry type are not statistically significant meaning that these factors do not influence IPO underpricing in Hong Kong stock market.	en_CA
