dc.description.abstract A high-precision branching-ratio measurement for the superallowed [beta superscript +] emitter [superscript 26]Al[superscript m] was performed at the TRIUMF-ISAC radioactive ion beam facility. An upper limit of [less than or equal to] 12 ppm at 90% confidence level was found for the second forbidden [beta superscript +] decay of [superscript 26]Al[superscript m] to the 2[superscript +][subscript 1] state at 1809 keV in [superscript 26]Mg. An inclusive upper limit of [less than or equal to] 15 ppm at 90% confidence level was found when considering all possible nonanalog [beta superscript +] /EC decay branches of [superscript 26]Al[superscript m], resulting in a superallowed branching ratio of 100.0000[superscript +0][subscript −0.0015]%. en_CA
