Note: Maurits Cornelis Escher was one of the world's most famous graphic artists. He was born in Leeuwarden, Netherlands in 1898 and died in 1972. Escher made 448 lithographs, woodcuts and wood engravings and over 2000 drawings and sketches. He is most well-known for his impossible constructions such as Metamorphosis I, II and III.
