Celebrating the Ozmon Years, ca. 2000

Abstract

Video highlighting Dr. Kenneth Ozmon's time as University President (1979-2000). Video contains pictures of the Ozmon family, faculty, students, and dignitaries, interviews with the media, fundraising programs, newspaper articles about various activities he was involved in for the university, meeting the Prime Minister (Jean Chretien), and his travels to other parts of the world. There are videos of the opening of the Sobey Building, construction updates to the campus, convocation ceremonies, and awarding the 1998 football team for their championship win. One of the major highlights of the video is Dr. Ozmon receiving the Order of Canada for his contributions to education in Canada. It was mentioned in the clip that he was the longest serving president in Saint Mary's history with 4 terms under his belt.
