Excellent condition.
Nova Scotia Premier John Savage operates a backhoe for the ceremonial turning of the sod for the future Frank H. Sobey Faculty of Commerce Building. Archbishop Austin Burke (SMU Chancellor, second from right) and Dr. Ken Ozmon (SMU President 1979-2000, far right, back to camera) look on. In conjunction with the sod-turning, there was a plaque ceremony held outside the Dean of Commerce's office in the McNally building (see 06.03.0080).
From External Affairs. On reverse, 'CLARK PHOTO/96' is written upside down in blue pen. On a piece of paper taped to the back, the following is typed: 'The Honorable John Savage, Premier, Nova Scotia was the first to turn the sod for the new Frank H. Sobey Faculty of Commerce Building. Standing in line are Dr. Kenneth Ozmon, President, Saint Mary's and Most Reverend Archbishop Austin E. Burke.' Written in blue pen after that is '(credit Jim Clark)'. A Post-It note stuck to the back reads: 'J. Savage bio.'
