Group photo of 16 boys and two Brothers in 2 rows (1 standing, 1 sittiing). Front row (l to r): Bill McCarthy, Fred Hawes, Luke Feetham, Brother Cornelia, Brother Culhane, Howard Hickey, Charlie Beazley, and Artie Inglis. Back row (l to r): Ernie Glenister, John Martin, Jim Carroll, ?, ?, ?, Gerry Burns, Tom Kerr, Tom Stokes, and St. Clair Hayes. Identities confirmed by J. Mills in 2015; however, Pete Hartrey remains unidentified. The caption is doubtful because the prospectus found on the first page of the 1922 Santamarian yearbook lists only Arts, Engineering, High School, and Preparatory curricula, i.e. Saint Mary's hadn't added Science to its curriculum yet. This class photo is more likely to be that of Arts and Engineering. Publication of the yearbook was suspended from 1914-1920 likely due to wartime and immediate post-war paper shortages: a patriotic gesture by the College (see pg. 13 and 93 in the 1921 Santamarian yearbook).
C2/3: Written in black on reverse: 'Arts and Science 1917-18.' C4: Embossed in lower right corner of mat: 'Gauvin & Gentzel, Halifax, Canada.' Written in pencil on reverse: '6.,' '1917-18' and '27.0'. Came with note reading: 'Back Row. Ern Glenister, John Martin, Jim Carroll, Pete Hartrey, Gerry Burns, Tom Kerr, Tom Stokes, St. Clair Hayes. Front Row. Bill McCarthy, Charlie Beazley [2nd from right], Art Inglis' [far right]. Only 11 boys are named. From Art Gallery.
