Three priests stand behind a very young (and very handsome!) Bob Hayes sitting at a desk, signing his new employment contract making him Director of Athletics, replacing Father O'Donnell who was Athletics Director until 1957. From l to r are Father MacGillivray (hockey coach), Father O'Donnell, Bob Hayes, and Father Patrick Malone (SMU President 1956-1959). This photo is on pg. 64 of the 1959 yearbook. Nova Scotia football great Bob Hayes was Saint Mary's first Athletics Director from 1958-1974 and 1983-1985, as well as the first Student Services Director from 1975-1983. He also played a major role in the 1984-89 Capital Campaign.
