Mary Sun (wearing yellow pants), history professor (BA History - Honours, MA History from University of Hong Kong, PhD from University of London), taught at SMU from 1969-1986, and was a member of the Asian Studies Association. In 1979 she was appointed Sinologist (scholar in Chinese language and culture) at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing.
