Convocation gets underway, and graduates stand respectfully as Saint Mary's faculty and administrators, in caps and gowns, ascend the steps to the stage in the University Gymnasium (in the basement of the old chapel). There are a handful of women visible in this photo: one administrator (? far left) in the procession, and at least two young women among the graduates. In 1989 this double-height space was renovated into the Faculty Lounge, IT office, The Den computer lab, and classrooms. Written in pencil on reverse is '111.0' and 'St. Mary's Convocation.'
