dc.description	Panoramic photo of a reception probably in the days leading up to Convocation, as priests and faculty mingle socially with soon-to-be graduates. To left of centre of the photo, Father Fischer (in profile, wearing glasses, SMU President 1959-1967) prepares to light a cigarette next to Geology faculty Dr. Simpson (much shorter, back to camera). Just beyond Father Fischer is English faculty K. MacKinnon (glasses, obscured). Standing upper left is shy Arts student David Gray (wearing bow tie) with Father Brown keeping him company. At upper right Art and French faculty J. Loewenstein (grey hair, glasses) chats to two students. At bottom right Father Mills socialises with History faculty Jack MacCormack (dark jacket, drinking from glass), Arts student J. Kelleher (striped tie), and tall Commerce student Barry Lacombe (back to camera). Just off centre, Science student John Boyle (dark hair, glasses, necktie, facing camera) chats to an elderly gentleman. Identities confirmed by J. Mills in 2016.
