dc.description.abstract This paper begins with definitions of toxic and healthy workplaces. Signs of social, human, and economic effects of workplace stress are discussed as well as underlying causes. Possible solutions for reducing toxic workplaces are presented with a detailed agenda for creating and implementing programs to ensure that managers take responsibility for reducing stress in their organizations. en_CA
