dc.description.abstract Recognizing the textbook as a central, and significantly evolved, element of modern university education, this research attempts to address the lacunae that exist within our understanding of textbooks as pedagogical tools. Specifically, this exploratory research addresses questions pertaining to textbook development over time, textbook use by students, and the relationships that exist between the textbook, the educator and the student. en_CA
