dc.description.abstract We argue that because research agendas encompass values as well as techniques it is important to seriously question not only the technical contribution of research but to pay particular attention to its moral implications. The reasons for this prescription and an example of counter-values from John Ruskin’s The Stones of Venice are presented. Implications for teaching and research are discussed. en_CA
